An Artist, Inspired
Above his head, the sky opens
He has shown his heart, with portal eyes
Beneath his feet, the earth trembles
He has asked, and watches for replies
That come, welcome, and no surprise
As sure as ripening fruit
Just as textured, and with such a weight
A gift is pushed on through it
All, a word, a stroke, we anticipate
Without knowing we have been, and it was late.
